The Hill and Dale Garden Club of Farmington, Michigan is a member of the Michigan Garden Clubs, Inc. under district 1. Our club resides under the Central Region of the National Garden Clubs, Inc. Founded in 1957 and federated one year later, our mission statement is: "to endeavor to broaden the knowledge of gardening; to stimulate interest in horticulture, conservation, Garden Therapy activities and to present concepts in the art of flower arranging."
Our meetings are held on the second Thursday evening of every month throughout the year, with the exception of July and January. Our next meeting is Thursday, September 09, 2010 7:00:00 PM EST at the Spicer House located in Heritage Park off Farmington Road between 10 and 11 Mile.
At our next meeting: "Let's Go Organic" - Presented by Jane and Allan Geisler.
Knowledge in horticulture, conservation or flower arranging is not a prerequisite for membership, however, bring an interest in learning new ideas and meeting new gardening friends! If you have any questions about our website, programs and presentations, membership, or other activities, please contact us, we would love to hear from you!
Since 1961, our "Garden Therapy" program has brought educational workshops to classrooms in the Farmington Hills school district. Our Junior Gardeners conduct workshops with young special needs children several times per year at the downtown Farmington Library to develop their interest in nature and gardening.
